Scheduled canal boat trips
Our scheduled boat trips operate from the Canal Basin providing 75 minute return trips, with a friendly crew providing information about the canal history, points of interest and the local wildlife along the route.
The trips will normally take place on our new boat Kingfisher or occasionally on our boat Richmond subject to availability.
The canal is a beautiful retreat close to the city, easily accessible by public transport.
Enjoy the reflections on the water and the unique views of the cathedral and the beautiful Sussex South Downs. As you glide past the wild flowers and reed beds, watch out for herons, kingfishers and water voles in their natural habitat.
The Canal trip leaves Chichester and heads south into the open countryside of the Manhood peninsula. At Hunston the canal turns right down towards Chichester Marina. At Donnington the Boat reaches its turning point and heads back towards the Basin.
From 18th of March, the trips run four times a day at 10:15 am, 12:00 noon, 1:45 pm, and 3:30 pm.
The boat has access and room for two people in wheelchairs. If this facility is required, please select “additional space for a wheelchair” as well as including the passenger as an adult or child as appropriate.
We regret that dogs are not allowed on our scheduled boat trips, the only exception being guide or assistance dogs.
