We have the answer!

Our swans have been seen along much of the canal recently but this year’s nest has been devoid of eggs. Checking our good friend Google, it would seem that laying time is normally April or May, but can be as late as June. Incubation can take between 35 and 42 days.

On 22 May, both cob and pen (male and female respectively) were photographed together on the nest. They are leaving it late this year.

But then, just as we were about to publish this post…….

Gary Howes sent us the lovely photo of new cygnets, apparently by the barrier/car park as you enter the marina. Thank you so much Gary for this lovely photo and the update.
