Congratulations to Dorothy Cox

One of our Canal Trustees, Dorothy, bravely completed a 182 mile marathon cycle ride from Exeter to Chichester in extreme heat over the bank holiday weekend to raise funds for the Snowdrop Trust. The South Devon hills proved to be very taxing, but she didn’t give up and arrived back at the Canal Basin at 5.30 on Monday to rapturous applause from the Mayor, Peter Evans and his wife, Canal volunteers and those socialising outside the Richmond.

Dorothy was in good spirits… we bet she’s aching now… and was delighted to enjoy the buffet reception and champagne laid on by the Canal volunteers.

All that is left to say is “very well done” on completing the ride and raising nearly £1000 for a worthy cause.
