Christmas Down the Chichester Canal

It is a time to join Friends and Family and share in the magic of friendship with newfound friends who join to celebrate Christmas together on Chichester Canal.

Children will meet Father Christmas and receive festive treats and new cuddly friends to take home for Christmas day.

Family Christmas Boat Trips

Both our Kingfisher and Richmond Boat Trips will take 1 hour and 15 minutes and depart from the Canal Basin.

Kingfisher

Father Christmas will board Kingfisher with the help of his crew to say hello and give gifts to the children, then return to his grotto. Children will receive a wrapped named gift from Father Christmas and other gifts will be given out during the journey and when the family departs. We will be providing light refreshments for our customers and our Cabin Crew will be aboard to involve children in activities around the theme of Friendship.

Kingfisher – Adult or Child
Max 20 people on board – £15 per person

Richmond

On our Richmond boat, Father Christmas will also board the boat from his grotto but will stay on board and travel back to the Canal Basin with your family and friends. Children will receive a wrapped named gift from Father Christmas and other gifts will be given out during the journey and when the family departs. We will be providing light refreshments for our customers and our Cabin Crew will be aboard to involve children in activities around the theme of Friendship.

Richmond – Adult or Child
Max 32 people on board – £15 per person

Festive Boat Ride ( Adult)

Our Festive Boat Ride aboard Kingfisher will take 1 hour and 15 minutes and depart from the Canal Basin. Passengers can enjoy a mince pie, mulled wine, coffee, and fruitcake on board.

Max 20 people on board – £12.50 per person

Please note that Father Christmas will not be on these trips.

Christmas Light Switch-on Evening

Join Us for a Magical Christmas Light Switch On at Chichester Ship Canal!

Get into the festive spirit and join us on Sunday, December 1, 2024, for a sparkling evening from 4:00 pm as we kick off the holiday season with our annual Christmas Light Switch On! Taking place at the Chichester Ship Canal, this event is perfect for families, friends, and anyone looking to celebrate the joy of Christmas.

Once you have booked, you will receive a booking confirmation email where you can follow the link to input your children’s names. We would appreciate you do this at your earliest convenience.

Please remember to add a Wheelchair space to your party when booking if required you will not be charged for the extra seat a paid seat must also be added for the person in the wheelchair.

We would be grateful if you could add any special requirement or dietary requirements when you book.

Although we will try our best to heat the boat, please wear suitable clothes for the temperature outside on the day.

The children will have a chance to talk with Father Christmas and you may take photographs of your family with him.

Infants under 2 can go free but must be counted on your booking and will not be given refreshment or gifts on the journey.

Customers are reminded that:

• We welcome diversity and as far as possible provide equality of opportunity for customers, volunteers and staff.
• The MCA regulates our vessels and crew to ensure we operate to the highest water safety standards. Typically, our boats can take a maximum of two wheelchairs on Richmond and one on Kingfisher. Therefore, if your party requires more than this facility, please contact us by phone or email so that we can jointly plan an experience that will fully benefit your party.
• Both boats have lifts for passengers with impaired mobility or requiring wheelchair access. There is a ramp to the pontoon.
• When booking please advise us of any special requirements for your trip.
• Toilet facilities are available on-site before you board the boat. Both boats have toilet facilities on board; the facility on Kingfisher is accessible to wheelchair users.
• We regret that dogs are not allowed on our boat trips; the only exceptions are Guide or Assistance dogs.
