Work starts shortly on bank repairs

Cain Bio Engineering will be spending much of February working at three positions along the south side of the canal, where the back requires much needed repairs beyond Hunston. This company undertook similar repair work some five years ago along much of this stretch and will now repair sections not worked on back then.

The towpath will not be closed to the public but pedestrians and cyclists are requested to abide by contractor’s banksmen and only pass work positions when cleared to do so. This is for everyone’s safety.

The Canal Trust regrets any inconvenience but it is clear from the photos that work is required if the towpath is to remain open well into the future.
