Canal Basin is all a-twinkle

Father Christmas visits to switch on the lights

An illuminated model boat display from Portsmouth Model Boat Display team preceded the arrival of Richmond and Kingfisher at the Basin… lit and decorated. The first of many families were presented with a chance to go on a boat ride with a surprise visit from Father Christmas who hopped on from his decorated abode along the canal, handing out presents to children and asking if they had been naughty or not. From then, he pressed the switch to make the basin twinkle – received with massive applause.

OK Chorale Choir and Fishbourne Mill Morris dancers entertained the crowd with their joyous performances. Unfortunately the weather couldn’t permit for the fireworks to happen.
