A cream tea special occasion!
On Sunday 11th March, we celebrated Mothering Sunday with 30 guests (and 1 baby) aboard MS Richmond enjoying a lovely cream tea. Among our guests, we had 2 and even 3 generations of mothers. Luckily, for most of the trip, the weather was kind to us.
The tea began with home made scones, butter, cream and jam all served by two volunteer crew. This was followed with a selection of home made chocolate, cherry jam, strawberry jam and lemon cakes, accompanied by unlimited tea, coffee, water or juice. For this special occasion, there was also prosecco on sale, which certainly went down well with some of the Mums. The tables were all decorated with a fresh oriental lily, a chocolate for each guest and pretty napkins. What’s not to like!
Although we arrived back at the Canal Basin in pouring rain, our passengers left with smiles when they all received a bunch of daffodils.
