Chichester Canal on TV?

Channel 5 filming

On Fri 16th November a TV film crew spent all day filming on the canal as part of Channel 5’s series “Secrets of the National Trust”. The particular  programme will be about Petworth House and Lord Egremont’s part in the house – and Chichester’s canal in which he had a great interest.

Peter Purves, known to many as a past presenter on the BBC’s Blue Peter programme, took the lead. He enquired about Lord Egremont’s input and also took the opportunity to talk about Turner and his painting of Chichester Cathedral.

It is expected that the 50 minute programme will be broadcast in the Spring. Despite filming for almost 8 hours, we understand that our part will be no more than 4 minutes. So don’t blink if you are watching!
