Free entertainment at Chichester Canal Basin

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, our volunteer work party meet to enjoy each others’ company and to attend to the many chores around the Canal. Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and range in age from early twenties to spritely eighties!

So why do they do this work? Well for a variety of reasons…. to escape the other half!, for company, for fresh air and general wellbeing, to contribute to the community…. and to enjoy the wildlife.

One such volunteer, Rachael, loves to escape and to snap away on her smartphone in between helping with weed collection etc. On this occasion, she was in the right place at the right time to video cygnet diving practice. Please watch to the end…. we love the last shot! Well done Rachael.
