A temporary change
Over recent months, the canal towpath has been used by drug dealers. It has therefore been decided by local councils and authorities, including Sussex Police, that four benches between the canal basin and the ramp to Canal Walk will be removed as a temporary measure. The situation will be kept under review with the hope that the benches can be returned in a matter of weeks.
